課程概述 |
如何預防疾病、促進健康,一直是公共衛生領域工作者長久以來追求的目標。只是時代不同、社會有異,健康的概念會變、趨吉避凶方法也不相同。
過去數十年來,大多數的開發中或已開發國家,從農業社會到後工業社會,人際互動、家庭結構、工作與生活型態都產生巨大的改變。對公眾健康最主要的威脅,也從急性傳染病轉變為與生活型態相關的疾病為主。維護健康、預防疾病的策略,也從早期的衛生教育,過渡到強調健康宣導;從依賴人際傳播,逐漸倚重大眾傳播。以臺灣為例,近幾年來,新興的傳染病(SARS、禽流感、新型流感、COVID-19),以及威脅公眾健康的食品安全問題(例如三聚氰胺、朔化劑、狂牛症與牛肉進口議題),傳播媒體傳遞健康與風險訊息的不確定與混亂,也為健康傳播領域帶來新的挑戰。
媒體是健康傳播重要的管道之一。數位時代媒體傳播訊息的形式與內容詭譎多變;對健康傳播來說是新契機,也是高挑戰。一方面媒體形式的多元,健康訊息與介入可以有前所未有創新;但同時,假新聞、錯誤資訊,透過社交平台快速網狀散佈,也帶來新挑戰與困難。
此外,從人際傳播方面來看,醫療照護的制度、社會文化中的健康信念,都和醫療情境中專業者與病人的溝通互動息息相關,進而可能影響到病人的醫療選擇與健康。
健康傳播領域的發展,相對而言是一個年輕而且跨學門的研究範疇。媒體與傳播對公眾健康的影響(包括負面與正面)也愈來愈受到重視。因此,討論傳播與公眾健康的研究也愈來愈多。究竟什麼是健康傳播?包含那些範圍?核心內涵是什麼?這些都是本課程所要討論的議題。
本課程的核心內容以介紹健康傳播的實踐與研究為主。從閱讀與討論中理解傳播關注健康議題的觀點,以及運用健康傳播取向的介入、研究主題與相關方法。課程的設計包括研讀理論與過去研究,分析國內外的實例,並討論臺灣近幾年相關的議題。 |
